Thematic Study on Rural E-commerce Development in West China was conducted in collaboration with AliResearch. Based on the study, WFP China COE presented a thematic report on China's experience in rural e-commerce, especially in the western areas. By showcasing some role-model entrepreneurs in e-business, the report aims to demonstrate the positive impacts of e-commerce in promoting rural development in West China, such as Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, in the hope that such experiences may be shared by other developing countries. The report also highlights women's role in rural e-commerce.
