China-Africa Rice Value Chain Development Initiative in Côte d'Ivoire. WFP China COE and CERFAM implemented this project in Côte d'Ivoire to facilitate South-South knowledge-sharing and expertise transfer in advancing rice value chain development through pilot demonstration, capacity development training, and technology and skillstransfer, a joint effort to respond to regional and local development demands and priorities.

WFP China COE implemented field missions and rounds of consultation with different private sectors for procurement of the rice processing and storage demonstration facilities. The facilities have been settled down for demonstration activities. In November, a joint diagnostic mission in target area was conducted by WFP Côte d'Ivoire Country Office, CERFAM, Africa Rice Centre and the national rice authority. A training on packaging and post-harvest management was also organized during the week after the diagnostic with support from Chinese experts in China-Africa Agricultural Technology Demonstration Centre in Côte d'Ivoire.
