Workshop on Sustainable Mechanization for Smallholder Farmers in Asia and Africa

During 12 to 15 May 2019, a TrainingWorkshop onSustainable Mechanization for Smallholder Farmers in Asia and Africa in Support of the Sustainable Development Goals was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Representatives of 15 countries are participating the workshop, including 3 from Africa and 12 from Asia. WFP has invited participants from Africa including Cameroon, Niger and Zimbabwe. The training program was unfolded by a Seminar on Agricultural Mechanization Practices and Prospects for Smallholders in Asian and African Countries. Country presentations were shared among the participants. Views were exchanged on challenges and constraints for agricultural mechanization, and good practices and experience were also shared among delegates.
