Seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management

WFP Centre of Excellence for Rural Transformation (WFP China COE) and National Disaster Reduction Center of China (NDRCC) co-organized a series of events on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management, including Session 1: Policy Dialogue and Session 2: Technical Exchange. 


The Seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Management was held on 17 May. Experts from NDRCC, Civil Protection Authority of Timor-Leste and China Agricultural University shared knowledge and experience on disaster risk reduction and emergency management from perspectives of policy mechanism and measures and post-recovery to reduce smallholders' loss. Mr. David Kaatrud, Director of Humanitarian and Development Division of WFP HQ delivered the closing remarks and highlighted strengthening country capacities through SSTC has been a key element of WFP's efforts to Zero Hunger and the partnership with China on SSTC has helped bring SSTC to the top of WFP's agenda. Dr. Qu Sixi moderated the Seminar.
