Dr. Lan Siren is an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, a member of the Agriculture and Forestry Department of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation in Fujian Province. 

Dr. Lan has long been engaged in research on biodiversity conservation, landscape architecture and ecological civilization. He has been entitled as

◇Member of the China Tourism Development and Reform Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism;

◇Consultant expert of the National Foresty and Grassland Administration;

◇Member of the China Forest Landscape Resources Evaluation Committee;

◇Vice Chairman of the Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Commission;

◇Chairman of the Forest Park and Forest Tourism Branch of the Chinese Forestry Society;

◇Chairman of the Orchid Branch of the Chinese Botany Society

Dr. Lan presided over and undertook more than 20 scientific research projects at the provincial level or above, including the National Science and Technology Support Program. He published 10 books such as "Wild Orchids of Ornamental Importance", and more than 100 papers in academic journals such as "Acta Horticulturae". The teaching and scientific research achievements he has completed have won 1 national teaching achievement award, 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. He has won the Fujian Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award and the provincial "May 1st Labor Medal".
