Invitation to a Webinar "2022 African Union Year of Nutrition: Roles, challenges and opportunities for food fortification in the fight against malnutrition and in strengthening nutritional resilience of communities."

The Regional Centre for Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition (CERFAM), together with the Government of Cote d'Ivoire and the World Food Programme (WFP) are co-organizing a webinar on the following topic: "2022 African Union Year of Nutrition: Roles, challenges and opportunities for food fortification in the fight against malnutrition and in strengthening nutritional resilience of communities." This webinar will be held on the 28th of September at 11:00 GMT by way of the Zoom platform.

Against the backdrop of the African Union's (AU) declaration of 2022 as the Year of Nutrition for Africa, this webinar is an opportunity to review the current nutrition situation in Africa, especially in light of the global food crisis, and its severe impacts on the state of malnutrition on the continent. The webinar seeks to unpack and provide a comprehensive understanding on the role, challenges, and opportunities for fortification in attaining positive nutritional outcomes and increasing nutrition resilience of communities.

The webinar will allow stakeholders such as the African Union Commission (AUC), Harvest Plus, Nutrition International, World Food Programme (WFP), and the National Alliance for Food Fortification (NAFF)/National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) - Gambia to share their experiences and views on this topic.
