Dr. Zhao Xia serves as the dean and professor at institute of food and strategic reserves, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics. She is an esteemed executive director of the China Grain Economics Society and the Jiangsu Grain and Oil Society. Additionally, she holds a directorship at the esteemed China Grain Industry Association. She is a member of the expert advisory committee of the Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, representing the provinces and cities of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Anhui.

Her primary focus lies in the realms of food security theory and policy. With a deep understanding of national strategies and the pressing needs of the grain industry, she has dedicated her long-term efforts to conducting theoretical and applied research in grain economic theory and policy, the development of the grain circulation industry, and the management of the food supply chain.
