Rice farmers affiliated with Tailai — a State-owned farming company that's part of Beidahuang Agricultural Reclamation Group in Heilongjiang province — began to look forward a bountiful harvest when harvesting machines started working their paddies in early October.

Since the start of autumn harvest, Tailai Farm has taken advantage of favorable weather conditions and scientifically arranged the harvest order, mobilizing mechanical forces to ensure an efficient and timely harvest and secure the grains in storage.

In recent years, the farm has focused on the production and sales of high-end organic rice, establishing planting bases, developing contract farming, and creating a series of top-quality rice products.

"Tailai Farm is located in the first accumulated temperature zone, with significant temperature differences between day and night," Yin Long, general manager of the farm. "Furthermore, the fertile black soil and pollution-free irrigation using the fresh water from the Nenjiang River combined with high standards and technological green planting methods help us produce nutritious and delicious high-end organic rice."

With its extensive experience in rice cultivation, the farm has successfully integrated technologies such as unmanned operations and aerial operations, achieving a transformation of agricultural machinery from mechanization to intelligence.

At the same time, traditional pesticides have been replaced with environmentally friendly pesticides, and bio-organic fertilizers have replaced chemical fertilizers, coupled with complete and high-standard irrigation and drainage infrastructure, achieving sustainable development of agriculture.

Farmer Gu Zhendong has been planting rice at Tailai Farm for 18 years.

He has achieved a yield of 9,000 kilograms with an output value of over 10,000 yuan per hectare by adopting advanced technologies, such as intelligent oxygen-soaking seedling cultivation, super-sized greenhouses for seedling cultivation, rice transplanters with Beidou navigation for accurate, and efficient fertilization and agricultural drones with different functions.

Tailai has 666.7 hectares of arable land planted with rice this year and it is expected to see a yield of over 7,200 kg per hectare.
