The Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices has released the results of its sixth call, presenting 108 award‑winning practices selected from 840 submissions across 40 countries and regions. These practices demonstrate sustainable, replicable, practical, and inclusive approaches to poverty reduction, offering valuable models and strategies for policy makers, practitioners, and communities worldwide.
A Global Repository of Solutions
Launched in 2018, the solicitation encourages individuals and organizations worldwide to share successful experiences in poverty alleviation. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone for fostering SouthSouth and Triangular Cooperation, strengthening partnerships, and inspiring innovative solutions aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The sixth round, initiated in October 2024, attracted submissions from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, including Ghana, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Namibia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Nepal, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Grenada and China. The selected best practices span a wide range of areas, including agricultural innovation and food security, vocational education and skills development, rural revitalization and community empowerment, social protection for vulnerable groups, digital and climate‑smart solutions, and international cooperation initiatives. Together, these practices provide diverse and replicable models for advancing global poverty reduction.
Announcement and Knowledge Sharing
The results were announced at the 2025 International Seminar on Global Poverty Reduction Partnerships, held in Beijing on December 10, 2025, under the theme “Strengthening Partnerships to Address Poverty Reduction Challenges.”
At the event, the seven hosting organizations of the Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices, namely the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the CIIC, the IPRCC, the World Bank (WB), and three Rome-based UN agencies -- the FAO, the IFAD, and the WFP, jointly announced the award-winning case studies selected under the sixth call of the solicitation.

Participants, including case study contributors, received certificates at the event.
The selected case studies showcase diverse experiences, ranging from agricultural technical assistance and vocational education initiatives to programs empowering smallholder farmers. Together, they provide innovative approached and practical experience for policymakers, practitioners, and communities worldwide seeking innovative solutions in advancing poverty reduction on the ground.
Looking Ahead
Alongside the release of the Global Poverty Reduction Case Series 2025, the seventh round of the solicitation was launched, continuing efforts to expand the global repository of effective poverty reduction practices. By documenting and sharing these experiences, the initiative contributes to building stronger international partnerships and accelerating progress toward ending poverty in all its forms.
