The scope of the report was expandedto include a set of six nutrition indicators used tomonitor World Health Assembly global targets fornutrition and diet-related non-communicablediseases, three of which are also indicators of theSDG2 targets. The report also introduced for thefirst time a new indicator of food security, theprevalence of severe food insecurity based on theFood Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES), which isan estimate of the proportion of the populationfacing serious constraints on their ability toobtain sufficient food.
