This report has been produced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China upon a request from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to summarize China’s food policy in the period from 1979 to 2018. WFP intended to use this summary as a resource for practitioners in other countries and as a stimulus for increase south-south cooperation with other developing countries to support achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Eliminate hunger and Malnutrition).
