E-commerce Promotes Rural Vitalization in West China

The report analyzed typical examples of e-commerce development in Gansu and Shaanxi provinces to demonstrate the positive effects of e-commerce in promoting rural development in west China and may be useful for other developing countries.

The report is divided into 3 sections. Section 1 provides the public sector’s support for the development of E-commerce among smallholder farmers. Section 2 offers E-commerce players’ strategy for the development of rural E-commerce. Section 3 implications related to the development of rural E-commerce in western China for other developing countries.
